The Seed

Gorilla Glue #4 really needs no introduction. This powerful, predominantly Indica hybrid (but with Sativa effects) has been known for some time, not only in the US but also in Europe. It is probably one of the most globally recognized cannabis strains that have emerged in recent years. Its status is as respected as a classic strain like White Widow, NL, Super Skunk, etc. The name of the strain already suggests what you can expect from it. It will be sticky, full of resin, and hit you with the strength of the strongest glues. Hence, the name has received much criticism from the makers of an original glue brand. Therefore, the strain is also known by names such as GG#4 or Original Glue.

The Cultivation

Gorilla Glue #4 contains genetics from some very potent parent lines: Chem's Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. All strong members of the famous Sour Diesel/Chemdog family of strains with that great, citrusy, fuel-like, chocolate flavor and super uplifting, creative high, which turns into a couchlock if a considerable amount is consumed. Especially the Sour Dubb strain is an interesting parent of the GG4. Sour Dubb is thought to be an East Coast Sour Diesel cut from the famous Rez (known for his incredible Sour Diesel in-bred-line). This cut always brings out the sweet/gassy/sour powers of the Diesel and it manifests in every cultivar made with it. Chem's Sister is a more Chemdog-oriented cross that adds the chemical taste and potency.

Besides its great effects, Gorilla Glue is also a fairly easy plant to grow. It responds well to any training system and can take a lot of nitrogen during the vegetative phase and a lot of potassium and phosphorus during the flowering phase. It prefers moderate temperatures and will produce the maximum amount of resin in these. Most phenotypes seem to either have strong Sour Diesel traits (sometimes 70 days flowering phase) and others tend more towards the Chemdog side with a smaller plant, shorter flowering period, but with that typical chemical-lemony smell and uber-potency.

The Effect

It will deliver a euphoric head high combined with total body relaxation. If you harvest this strain after the 65-day flowering period, GG#4 will surely glue you to your chair. Harvesting this strain when most of the trichomes are milky and some transparent will give you a more uplifting type of effect that won't put you to sleep.
