What we call magic truffles are actually sclerotia. Sclerotia are compacted masses of mycelium threads found underground. When the temperature drops and humidity increases, these threads form sclerotia to store nutrients, allowing mushrooms to grow later when conditions are ideal. This process gives truffles their unique properties and effects.
